Good News: We played some great shows since my last entry. The Notre Dame show was cool. Everyone on campus was super nice, and fed us way too much food. Rhodes College down in Memphis, TN was a blast. Aside from the tornados (ha ha). We played with Murphy Lee, and All I can say is "air force one"!! Thanks to all the cool kids from Rhodes.

Bad News: When we were going home after the show in Memphis, TN the fuel pump in our van when out. So we spent the afternoon at Firestone gettin' that shiz fixed up. In the end it cost $1,026.31. DAMN!!!!! And after I gave the mechanic an amazing sob story about how poor my band is and we were from Chicago. He knocked of $50. WOW, thanks. It's been a Bad month for the dog van. We just put in a new engine last week, and that was $4,000. Sooo, anyway we are super broke. Ha Ha, what else it new.

Other than all that, I have been getting back in the swing of of doing websites. Jim was our web guy, and since he has been gone, I though I would take over doing the D&E web site. That is why we have a very simple site right now. But keep checking in. I have a few things up my sleeve that I'll unveil any day now.

Just got home from the madison show. It's 5am, I'm so tired, and can't sleep. Why does that happen? I'm at home watching some bad 80's B-movies, and updating our pure volume, and myspace sites. If any of you wanna tell me what song should annoy you when you first open our myspace page please let me know. Other than that, we played with this GREAT band from Nevada called Meg & Dia, and a great local called The Fateful Promise tonight.

by the way..I love being in a truly independent band that only plays 3 shows a week, and still some how ends up touting more than the "true indie rock darlings" that the press seem to love sooooooooooooo much. Ha Ha

We're at the Sleep Inn in De Pere, wi right now (We played at St. Norbert College with epic hero tonight). It's 1:30 in the am, and I'm rooming with Tommy.
He is sleeping and so is epic hero. Today was our 9th show as a trio. It feels like the old days when bandshell first came out all over again. Everyone has been so awesome through this transition it has been great. Thanks so much for your continued support. I never wrote a blog after out show in mankato but , all you mankato kids were great! That show was ridiculous! I also need to thank quietdrive for letting us use ALL their great at the la crosse show (harts to you boys). We are looking for new members. Let us know if you know any great bass players that can sing, and any keyboard players that might know a little guitar. Other than that we have a lot of great tour dates coming up in April so keep your eye on our tour page(it's on myspace for right now), and tell all your friends in the southwest to look out. That is it, i am far to tired and it is time for bed....

What's up all. Right now I'm listening to the "saturday night fever" movie soundtrack. It's fuckin' hot. I have been home from tour all week. So I have been getting a lot of design work out of the way. I finished up some branding/ imaging /logo work for this totally hip salon in naperville, il. The makeover is going great!! I'm stating on a website for them this week, and that should be a snap. Also picked up another band that wants me to do their album art, but shhhhhh. I can't tell you who they are yet, ha ha. Other than that I'm leaving for a Dog&Everything show tomorrow morning in Quincy, IL with Ludo, and Quietdrive. That will be fun. Also leaving for Texas on monday to go spend a week mixing some new D&E demos with Casey & Jaret. Also been talking to Jaret about some merch designs for Bowling for Soup. I have to get to gether a line of stuff for nex week. Ah, shit!! Here we go!! I find I only work well under pressure. Movies of the week: Bad Santa, Rocky 1, Butterfly Effect, and Over the Top.

Were driving home from the show at the bbc in bloomington,IL. Ron and Craig from Witroy came with us and Ron is sleeping in the back of the van right now. The rest of of us are listening to the ludo rock oprea. GOD, I LOVE LUDO!!!!! The show tonight was great. Epic Hero played with us and it was a blast to see those guys! This is a pic I took with my camera phone at a gas station just outside of Madison. Tonight was our last show with Quietdrive....Sooooooo sad. We got along great with those guys. Just ask them about the following words: "Halfsies", "West-Nile", and "Swoop". The drive to the madison sucked my ass. I drove, and spent 5 hours going 25 miles per hour on I-90.....Bawh. The show was good. Thanks to all the kids that came out. That was by far the best show we have ever played at journeys. Nothing like busting light-bulbs with my bass. HA HA!!!!! Right now Tommy is crashed out in my basement, and I am about to fall asleep also. Tomorrow we head out to bloomington, IL.

Ahhhh, back on tour. So tonight was Rockford, and please don't over look the ROCK in the FORD! We got this show cause of our amazing agent Matt has a great friend named Shannon, and because or band plays good rock songs. Not only did Rockford College get us 3 pimp ass rooms at a kick ass hotel, but the show was great!! It was the first show we played where our green room had everything on our rider (except for the "diet arizona green tea"). Our GREAT friend Angelo did sound. and everything was great! did I fail to mention the word "GREAT"?I loved the 3 room thing cause it gave me (i have not slept in 3 days) the chance to go to sleep, while the rest of my band and quietdrive talked about how much they love I-Tunes, and microwave dinners....I did manage to score a copy of "Monster Ballads", and "Hall & Oates greatest hits" from quietdrive. I already love those guys!!

8 hours later I wake up to dan's alarm, and dan saying, "we still have 1 more hour to sleep (kick ass)". Back to sleep. The next hour feels like a week, and then Tommy & Jim are at our door knocking like girl scouts selling cookies. Dan and I get up, and pack our shit. Then we head out to find food, and wouldn't you know it. We find a buffet right next to a great resale shop (kick ass). We go and eat a great meal, and a few rootbeer floats. Did I mention the word "great?" The drive to our next show in dekalb only takes one hour. Awesome..We load in and wait for quietdrive, triptti, and the other bands to show up. John the promoter is kick ass, and gets us some free drinks, and diner. Doors were at 8pm, and by that time The House in Dekalb was packed, and I was excited. We changed the set list around a little bit, cause they were a few kids from the Rockford show here and we didn't wanna do the same set two nights in a row. So we cut 'know it all', and swapped 'superglue', and 'look away'. This show was definitely more rowdy than the night B4. After our set, we loaded out, and bid farewell to quiet drive until 2morrow in Madison. Dan got in the driver seat and drove us home to the suburbs of chicago. and that is all. Goodnight until Madison.

I think I'm becoming a vampire. I don't sleep of late, and when I do all I do is have dreams about zombies. They are not exactly nightmares, just dreams. I think I have an obsession on my hands here. Aside from that we are leaving for a short run of tour dates with Quietdrive ( www.quietdrivemusic.com ) tomorrow, and I'm excited about that. Thanks to all the great kids at the mississippi nights show. i met so many new fans that saw us back at the pageant with ludo, and all our old friends were there too. That was the Dog's best STL show yet! It might have been the lasagna. Ludo, and Losers Luck were hanging out at the show, and i was so glad a chance to hang out with tim.C, and pmo. I haven't seen those guys since the dec 9th show. Thanks to bert, and Band B for getting us on the show! After the mississippi nights show we crashed at our friend Marie's House, and after frozen pizza, chips and a few cocktails (thanks phil), tried to get some sleep. The drive to Omaha was 6 hours and we had to be out at 9am. BAWH!!!!!

Well, Well. I have been doing a lot of D&E stuff. Booking shows, playing shows, designing new merch, listening to dan mix songs...Classic stuff. I also have been doing some freelance design. I just finished the artwork for witroys new album "Lets sew our heats together" (www.witroy.com). It looks very cool, i am so stoked about it!

I picked dan up tonight, and we headed down to the Metro x-mass party. I hung out for a while, had some drinks and bullshit with some friends, got mistaken for a gay guy, all good times. Somewhere along the way I got a text from a friend that let me know It was this same day last year that we played at the viper room in LA. As the night went on I kept thinking about it more and more. So much has happened since then, but then again not a lot has changed. What is the saying? "The more things change, the more they stay the same." I guess its true. Is that how life always is? I guess so.

Just got home from this weekend of shows. We had the most dangerous, crazy, and rediculus night yet, but that might just be cause Brent was with us. If you are ever in Elyria, Oh. Watch out for the locals! Fuckin crazy. We played this cool club called the spot with cherry monroe. Everyone was super rad. Cherry & us had a great time at the bar accross the street from the club getting our drink on with some people from Rust Rec. Best costume of the night...........The guy dressed up as 'a piece of shit.' No joke. I though he was a rice crispy treat. ha ha.

It's sat around 1:30am. We just got home from the NACA confrence in Grand Rapid, MI. NACA is this crazy confrence where all the colleges from across the nation go to look for bands, and other entertainment to book. So we went with our agent matt. I was blown away with all the kids that knew us at the conference. It was so rad to meet so many kids form diff schools accross the nation that knew us. I guess all this touring we have been doing is paying off. I think were gonna get some great shows from it. So if you saw our tour page and were like "Why isnt the Dog playin this weekend?" That is what we were up to. We did catch the end of the sox game tonight..I'm not a sox fan(go cubs), but I love watching the world series. Yeah, I'm one of those fans.....

Classic late night. It's 6:24am and I just got home from dan's house. We had a good night of hanging out. He was working on the tracks we did in Texas, and I was working on some new merch designs. I am so stoked about these new tunes! We have the next week off from shows. Its gonna be weired to be home on the weekend...In our time off were gonna finish up these tunes, and get a bunch of new merch orderder. Can you say hoddies?

I've spent the whole week infront on my lop-top. Getting some merch happening, and bookin some sweet new shows. I usually always have the tv on in the background (I can't stand quiet). I never watch mtv, I usually hate it.. All the non-video shows drive me crazy. I get enough drama in my real life that i don't need to see it on mtv. Can anyone say Laguna Beach? But I got sucked in...The new FOB, the new Coheed, and My Chem videos are great.

8am and here we are at Ryan's House in Mankato again(super cool guy with a nice house, and good coffee in the morning). I had a great time last night, and everyone at the What's Up is great. I saw more kids singing our words than when we were here 3 weeks ago, and that is always a good feeling, and adam came up and played guitar on the end of hey luv. So were driving up to mankato to play with the Dropping Daylight boys. We had to be on the road by 8am this morning Bawh. When we have to "leave" by 8am here is what really happens:

6am: Tommy has to get up, make himself pretty and get on the road to my house.

7am: Tommy shows up at my house. I'm still packing my shit up for the weekend, so we don't leave my house for another 30 min

7:30am: Tommy, and I head to Elmhurst to pick up Dan. We sit outside of dans house for 15-20mins.

7:54: After getting Dan we head out to get jim who has taken a 7:30am train from Chicago to Elmhurst, and is hanging out at The Panera in Elmhurst.

8:02am: Pick up Jimmy at panera. Then off to the Elmhurst Train station to pick up the vanilla gorilla (who took a later train than jimmy, from wheaton).

8:15am: Picking up Phil "The Vanilla Gorilla", and are finally ready to get on the road to Mankato, MN.

This happens every time we leave for shows out of town. It makes me laugh. We just need to move in together, and get a dog house. Did I just say that...man does that sound gay.

*In the D&E van bar this weekend we have Vodka (thanks to Ron from witroy), Whiskey, and Rum (thanks to phil), and as for beer.....We got a case of PBR, and a case of miller light. Both in cans...Here we go

We're in at some hotel in Bloomington right now, about to leave for our show at Marquette University, in Milwaukee. Last night was a great time. We headlined at weaslyan U. Thanks to al the kids that came out. everyone at the school was super cool. Plus the school set us up nice hotel which always a good thing(thanks kevin). And after the show, all i can say is..Kegstand...ha ha. We have been glued to the tv all morning watching the hurricane that is hitting texas. its crazy that we were just there yesterday. Ok, I'm attempting to get this done B4 my laptop dies on me. I just got home from the cream of wheaton. Good news, I finally got to see the waiting game. I liked it. They sound really great live, which is hard to come by these days. I also caught 15 min late's set. awesome. Also a very good live band. Bad news, I got to the show late (classic) so i missed the translation, and facing forward. I did catch triptii's last couple songs. Martty was playing his ass off tonight, awesome!

The last few days I've been getting up at 6am to get all this D&E stuff done. This is very unusual for me, and I dont think I like it. We also had rehural today. Were planing some cool stuff for the June 11 show. I'm really excited for it. I also caught FOB on TRL this afternoon. I am such a gay little FOB groupie. I booked a really funny show today. July 1st were playing ribfest in naperville. Dude, we are gonna be main support for David Lee Roth. How awesome is that!! I'm gonna die!

5-27-05 - Fat Bean - Naperville, IL

So, upon arriving at the Fat Bean, i find out that they found an investor, and might not be closing. That is awesome, but I was like "Classic, you play a last time show and it gets changed on you". But congrats to Marla (she owns the fat bean). Rushmore Academy drove up from ST. Louis for the show, and Scott, and Phil played a few saraphine songs. I love playing acoustic shows so much. We get to play a lot of songs that we don't usually play. It's like a big sing along, and you cant beat the post-show dance party.

5-28-05 - Mississippi Nights - St. Louis

So we left Chi-town at noon for STL. We watched Napoleon Dynamite on the way down, and ate Burger King. Good Times. Load in was a blast, and the guys in Rushmore Academy are crazy. We get along great together. You know doing what guys do. Playing snaps, talking about music, playing grab ass, the usual. I saw so many great bands on Saturday. Think Thank Thunk; awesome instrumental stuff. Lowercase; good emo stuff, total victory records vibe. Novella; heavy, screamo stuff, and rushmore academy; great, alt rock tunes. Tasha & Aaron made the drive out and helped us out with merch, and stuff. All our usual STL friends were out, and it was great to spend time with everyone. We were gonna hang out in beautiful STL, but ended up going home that night. Thanks to everyone that invited us out, sorry we couldn't stay and party. Next time I promise.

5-20-05 - College Of Dupage - Glen Ellyn

I just got home from the College of Dupage show, and classic watching Fight Club while I type this. What a good, sweaty, dirty, rock show. Tonight we debuted the new Dog & Everything Merchandise display. Did you see it? What did you think? Us dogs are very excited about it. I know this may sound gay, but indeed it is very exciting. Just wait till you see it, it's very sexy. The Gorilla was out in full force busting his ass tonight for us, and so were Tasha, Aaron & Co. I don't know how we would do it with out them. Man, I also got to see so many pretty boys & girls I have not seen in a long time (chris where you been). How is it that I have been so out of the loop for the last 4 months.

After setting up merch and getting everything situated for the gig, we journeyed down stairs, and stairs, and..wait. more stairs, then through a maze of doors to the special 'green room'. A Green Room, and I don't know why it's called that. Is typically like a dressing room. Wish means you can change in it. Ha Ha, well not this Green Room. The green room was the pool hall at COD. With glass walls that opened up to the hallway with vending machines, and a TV from the 80's. Now I'm not complain about the TV. We got to check out a good 15 min of The Muppets while we ate Pizza. Green Peppers, Sausage, and Olives .... awesome. But I had a call on line 2, and wanted to change. Ok, enough I sound like a chick.

After a little dinn dinn, we went upstairs to catch Witroys set. I haven't seen them since they played our last Metro show. They have come a long way. After Witroy, Treaty of Paris took the stage. I also have not seen them since they played our last metro show. I must say, I like it. I was afraid it would end up sounding like Empyrean with Phil on guitar. But They are writing some great music. We did miss the end of TOP's set cause we had a quick pre show meeting (in the amazing green room). Talked about the setlist, and talked about transitions. When we went back upstairs The Vanilla Gorilla had everything rockin' What a badass.

The show was great! A lot of spinning, a little jumpin around. We got to open with Ballad Song. I love playing that song! Famed D&E Photographers John Hanson & Tasha Cheney were both shooting the show. So there is no reason that we should not have amazing pic's from this show up on the Dog site soon. Hear me guys!!!!! Thanks to all the kids that checked us out. you guys were all something crazy tonight. Sorry if I ended up spitting on you. Hee Hee.

Lots happening in dog land. Here is a taste. We are comin out with a new shirt, designed by Nicholas Scimeca (famed drummer from 504 Plan). He is one one my fav designers right now. Nick has designed merch for FOB, The AA Rejects, The Academy is, and of course Clandestine Industries. I'm excited to see what he comes up with. We are going to be playing a few warp tour dates this summer, and have some other cool, cool summer gigs coming up, including some fests, and a summer tour. I can't say to much yet. 05.13.05 - Mexico, MO - Java Shakes & Rolls

So after a lovely 6 hour drive (thanks to me getting lost for a good 20 min..ha ha) we pull up to Java Shakes & Rolls, and are like wow, This place looks like its out of a scooby doo cartoon, all wooden, old and creepy. Like an old pirate ship. Maybe I was just thinking this because it was Friday the 13th. We loaded our gear in, and shmoozed with the locals. This place was hot...thank god the owner (he swore he was a senator, and I believed him) put the air-conditioning on. The place had that community center hall vibe, but like I said it was creepy. There were long dark hallways, and lots of stairs...and the bathroom smelled something atrocious. There were only 2 bands playing; Us and Stunt Your Growth. SYG went on first, did a great set, their good kids, alittle loud. And then we got to play some rock. By the time we went on the room was pretty full. And I was excited to play. Our set went off with out a hitch. I think I remember dan asking if he could get a alleluia from the audience. During our first song some light bulbs fell from the selling and broke on dans amp..sware to god, just fell out of the celling. They almost hit me in the face. I guess we just rocked it too hard...Ha Ha. This weekend should be known as the weekend we watched 'Goodfellas' 90 times in the van. This is the reason we kept saying 'wacked' on stage...Sorry. Other wise I remember I spit on tommy, on accident during the show, and we sold a ton of merch..Damn mexico!! Afterwards we headed out to the local hot spot In Mexico, MO....The Sonic Drive-in. From what the locals told me at 12:30am it was that or the Wal-Mart and it seemed the better of the 2. I have never had a Sonic Burger B4 and I have to say, I fell in love that night. Their double cheese burger is amazing, and the tater tots are to die for. I'm totally serious. After that fun we headed out on the long ride home. Jimmy was driving and what did all of us watch on the way home? Goodfellas, ha ha. Oh yeah, and on the way home Jimmy hit a possum. So can i say that jimmy 'wacked' a possum.

05.14.05 - Lagrange Park, IL - Colonnade Room
On the way to this gig what did I do. Your not gonna believe this. Tommy is driving, and I was giving him directions (I'm the guy that always takes care of the directions). For the first 20 min of our trip I was giving Tommy the directions to Mexico, MO. How dumb is that. I could not believe it. So we get to the gig about an hour late. Classic dog time thing to do. We made it in time to see One Man Crowd, and the Gel Heads. I have not seen them in 4ever. This place was your classic gym, with a stage built in. This show was so much fun. I got to spend time hanging out with the Vanilla Gorilla, and our street team leaders; Tasha and Aaron, and a ton of our skulls were out at the show too. Security at The Colonade Rome is tight. We're talkin' tighter that metro. Tighter then House Of Blues. I swear, you would not believe it. Nooooo 1 got in free to this show. We know, we tried. Sound Check took 4 ever, and we let Brian Grennenwalleded, write our set list. Good job Brian. We pulled out 'Wannabe', and 'Superglue'. I can't remember the last time we played those songs, and dan made me sing the first verse and chorus of 'Losing You'. I wanna apologize for that right now. I'm not usually known for my singing ability. However I am known for my amazing raping style. and Jimmy and I did a little free style session as well. All I remember is callin' myself the "D&E phantom on the microphone". Ha Ha.. so gay.

05.04.05 - Champaign, IL - Canopy Club
This was our last show of the school year at U of I, and it was really cool to do it at the Canopy Club. We had set the show up with our friends Broken Day from Champaign, IL. The show was 'Good Times'. there were so many new dog fans who saw us for the first time at the 'rock against aids' show at ISU, and the hi-dive show we did last month. Jim was buying us all beers (classic), and the The Vanilla Gorilla was with us this weekend so we got to spend some serious time sitting on our ass, and hanging out. By the time we were backstage about to go on i knew it was gonna be a great show!! We played our asses off, and all the kids were so cool.

Highlights: Tommy broke his snare so we played Superglue, Broken Day told me to "destroy" Tommy's bass drum, so I jumped on it excessively, Jim wore a suit, and looked good in it, Dan made us all hug in "Leave"...Bawh.

05.05.05 - Iowa City, IA - Gabes Oasis
We got up around noon, and headed out for Iowa City. The weather was awesome, and we played the new Fall Out Boy record the whole way. This weekend should be known as the 3 days I listen to FOB non-stop. I like the album, it's good. Got to Gabes Oasis and Lingered until the Vanilla Gorilla started loading in. This was our big Cinco de Iowa show. We met up with the Triptii boys outside and caught up for a while. Haven 21 came out from Omaha, and I was excited to see them.
*Sidenote. My band doesn't drink. But when ever we play iowa things get out of control. It doesn't matter if were playing with Ludo, Triptii, 15 Min Late, or your mom. With that in mind we made a pre show run to get some MD 20/20 ...Ha Ha. Needless to say I took care of that biznass. So by the time we hit the stage things were feeling good. We opened the show with Losing You, and played no good reason, and did a cover of happy 2gether. Kevin from triptti came up and sang the bridge on Hey Luv, and rocked it!! We were gonna close the show by playing D&E, but hey luv was so good we new we chould'nt top it. So we ended the show, and dan hooked his I-Pod up to the sound board and had a post show hip hop party. After loading out, dan made a run for some Jimmy John's and got yelled at by the Jimmy Johns "guy". They were about to close, and he was all pissed at the 7 foot singer. So we ended up all getting vito's. I ate, and crashed. I was a tired boy.

05.06.05 - Omaha, NE - Ranch Bowl
Got up at noon, grabbed a shower, and we got on the road to Omaha, NE. I tried to find a starbucks with no luck, damn you midwest! When we rolled up we spotted a dozen kids outside with D&E shirts waiting for the show. Awesome! Pomeroy was the headliner, and we knew the show was gonna sell out, so it was great that all you Dog kids made it out early B4 it sold out. This show was the best omaha show we have played yet. The Omaha kids were crazy, and loud as hell. Without the Vanilla Gorilla with us, no jim, and me with a broken rib, we needed to get some extra Muscle, for the show so I called up long time friend Adam Hall, and his buddies came out to help us out. Thanks Adam. Annnnnd The best part about playing with Pomeroy???? Seeing Pomeroy Play. They are so great, and get better, every time I see them. Happy B-Day Matt. Our Friend Steve came out and caught Pomeroy's set with us(we were craching at his place). After the show, I got to hear some of the new Pomeroy tracks. And then someone. I dont know who. Put some bowling pins from the ranch bowl in our van. Hee Hee Hee.

Mama mia! What a weekend! Champaign was just awesome just because its the canopy club......and seeing familiar faces is the best! And it was about time the dog plays a Cinco de Iowa show. haha. But for those of you or couldn't make it out to the Omaha show....you retarded baaastard. It was weird not having Jimmy at the show, but even the dog can perform without its lead singer. So basically telling me, we are all disposable.....oh god *puts head in hands* *sniff*

Ok...back. So we played a soled out Ranch Bowl that might have been the best omaha show we've ever played. Being front and center on the stage, because of lack of room, made it possible to actually see the audience react to our songs.....instead of seeing a big ass mop head standing in front of me. haha. But for real.....people mosh pitting *said in that adam sandler voice* Everyone...I mean everyone clapping....all the way to the back. Then when it came time to hold their cell phones up....the light guy turned out all the lights.....and i swear to god I got goose bumps. But classic augie killed it. He noticed some guy who wasn't holding a cell phone up. and yells...."hey...are you retarded? get your cell phone up!" and the gentleman so promptly responded with a MASSIVE middle finger mouthing the words *I don't have one asshole* It was perfect.

All in all....it was a great weekend. :) talk to you bitches later.

This April marks the year anniversary of the reason that the D&E and Ludo will never be asked to play on campus at the University of Iowa again. It was last April and Ludo & The D&E were playing their first shows together, and becoming the best of friends. My attorney advised me to not say too much about the night in question due to a pending trial, but i can say four things;

1) Check out the "Losing You Video" in the media section of the D&E site to see some shots of the chaos from that night.

Doing what we do; playing music, touring, creating art, Is the most real thing there is. We are constantly putting ourselves out there for praise, and criticism. It's a very real process. No one has any qualms about telling you suck. We experience higher highs, and lower lows then most people are used to. I get my hart broken every week, and still thank god that I have the opportunity to do what I do with my band.

When I get on stage to play a show I try to kill myself. Give everything i can, so by the end I have nothing left. What happens later doesn't matter. All that matters is feeling it, being in the molment, and expressing the emotion that i feel. Making ever second I'm on stage a real expirence. I'm not thinking about the future, or the past. I live from note to note.

Happy Hung-over Saturday.

There is too much sunlight this morning. DAMN! I need water, and aspirin. STAT!

I wanna talk about the Grammy's. I get so jealous of some bands luck. this month I'm Jealous of The Killers. I video taped them at this showcase in chicago two years ago for a buddy of mine that was A&R at Capitol Rec. When i saw them i thought they we're fine. The Drummer was a very strong player, and all the other members were nothing exceptional. The stage show was boring, and the singer was out of tune, and kept messin' up keyboard parts. The Most interesting thing about them was the fact that they dressed all 80's. We talked for a little while after the show about some stuff, and was so surprised at how they didn't care about touring, or doing things on their own. They told me the Vagas music scene "sucked", and they didn't draw very well. So here we are two years later, and the killers have sold 600,000 albums, are on the cover of Spin, and got nominated for 4 Grammy's.

Now, let me say two things right now.

1) I'm not writing this to dis the killers. Hot Fuss is a fucking great album. I love it! The point is I'm so jealous of all the success they have achieved with out even trying.

2) My goal is not to have a huge amount of commercial success. The cover of Spin, and getting nominated for a Grammy is not why I do this. I'm here cause this is what I do best. Playing music in not a choice. It's a disease , an addiction. That is why we put 120,000 miles on our van, and bust our asses going all over this country to play rock shows. We have sold a little over 10,000 albums (if you do your research independent bands don't do that). It bugs me to see success come so easy to some bands, who have not worked as hard as us.

I'm watching Pulp Fiction right now (i love this movie). I hung out with my pal Cal (audio, video genius) tonight and talked about the DVD that we are working on. The footage from the show we taped at the wheaton grand on oct 9th looks GREAT! I cant wait to see the finished edited version. What can beat cookies, snow, and ET on DVD?

So last Sat. was the metro show.....awesome!! I swear...if everyone out there is as amazing as our fans....there is no way we can't do this on our own! The question of "what do you want out of life?" and "What will make you feel successful?" have come up in different conversations lately. To me...its easy....inner peace. There is nothing better than feeling complete or calm in life. And success...well....if our job or passion affects one person....or gives one person that feeling....then I'm in. Without the drama that everyday life brings distracting us...to me, that is success.

As for my day on sunday....i went to my parents house and had snowball fights and went sledding and did the classic make a snowman with my 6 year old brother and 10 year old sister. we went inside and had hot cocoa!! then had an awesome meal followed by cookies haha. The night was topped off by watching ET. It was great!! now thats a classic! I have to admit...i got that chokey feeling...hehe.

15 hours, 5 states, 2 degrees, and 1 Caddy.

We left new Jersey today about noon and headed home. Everyone back home in Chicago was freakin about the snow storm we had, and the storm was heading our way on I-80. We caught the worst of it right as we got in to Pennsylvania, and of corse i was driving (classic). I felt like i was playing Grand Theft Auto swerving from lane to lane to avoid the trees laying all over I-80. We did made great time, and after the first four hours all the roads were clear and dry. We just listened to music and talked the whole way home. Dan got an I-pod from santa, so he kept us entertained playing House of Pain(remember them, "Jump Around"), and old Metallica. We did stop to grab some Taco Bell about half way, and worked out the set we're gonna play for metro ( I'm very excited about it, so you bitches better get ready). The real fun started when we got to my house and I helped Phil G. (our tech) Get his car started. Phil drives a 1983 Caddy. After sitting for a week at my house it was buried in snow, and frozen tight. We had to boil some water and poor it in the lock get the driver side door to open. Then that bitch caddy wouldn't start, so we had to jump it. Mind you it's 2 degrees outside and we just got done driving 13 hours across 4 states... Awesome. But, we jumped that shit, and Phil is on his way home. Me, I'm typing this while I'm waiting for a frozen pizza to cook up.

NYC was so great, and Shannon's Family was unbelievably nice to put us up for the week. And drive us in to the city and show us all the sites. I'm gonna miss that place. It was nice to go to a really City. We we're in Los Angels a few weeks ago and there is nothing there. No vibe, no city, no attitude. New York had a vibe I could relate to. It reminded me of Chicago. I've been to L.A. four times now, and aside from my friends there, Its all a bunch of bullshit, and great weather. Chicago is a really city. New York is a really city. I like that.

Alright! Pizza is done, and I have rehearsal for Metro tomorrow at 1pm. So I'm gonna eat and go to bed.

Times Square, and all i smell is Chinese

I cannot believe how nice the weather is in NYC right now. Tonight I saw time square for the first time, and can i say for a guy who is never impressed, it is amazing!!! Thanks to our friend shannon. Without her we would have never got around. Tonight we ended up coming back to Shannon's house and hung out with her family. We had a few drinks in her basement, and i got to play football, and PS2 with her little bro (he's 8)! Tomorrow I need to see the statue of liberty, and ground zero. The problem with my band is we're all history channel buff's. When we go to a new city we love going to the landmarks, and being total tourists. My friends John Hanson (he takes pictures for us sometimes), and Phil G. are with us. It was so cool seeing NYC with them, and my band.

The last week has been really nice. I've been home and got a chance to go to some shows, and see some friends I dont really get too see. We got a chance to rehearse a few new things we are going to be pulling out at the metro show, and I'm really excited about them. All of us ended up getting out to the fall out boys shows, and passing out flyers for our metro show next weekend. It was great hangin out and talkin with everyone.

New Years was a blast. I ended up seeing Elevation, the U2 tribute band. And for the record i hate shit like that. But i love U2, and my buddy was playing bass in the band. My girl and I ended up more entertained by the people in attendance at the show than Elevation. All in all it was an amazing good time. I spent all day today recovering from the damage i did to my body that night.

Leavin for NY 9am tomorrow. Here we go!!!

I love the day after christmas, everything is over and there is nothing to do but eat leftovers, and hangout. Todays mission, clean out my car. It is a pit of starbucks cups, and random shit. It is quite gross. Yes, I am a slob. As for the holiday, Santa got me an I-pass, socks, and pajama pants. ROCK! To everyone that came out to the fat bean show last night, thanks for making that show so special. It's so hard to do what we do day in and day out, and it's all worth it for nights like last night. I hope everyone enjoyed their "dog gift", and the dance party was a blast! If your reading this and you didn't get in, I'm so sorry. They could only let 80 people in, and we ended up with about 150 peep's in the fat bean. I though the place was gonna explode from the inside out.

I feel like Coldplay's album, A Rush of Blood to The Head has been the soundtrack to my life for the last three months. All moody, all questions and no answers. Things have been harder that ever that last few months, and at the same time i cant think of a better time in my life. I guess that is how it is right?

Game on

After a week of practicing in Dan's coldass garage getting our set tight, I’m packin for our trip to L.A. We are leavin early in the morning. It should be a good time. We are gonna get to hang with some friends that we don’t see to often. As for the people that we are playing for out there, I honestly could care less. This show is like some lame formality. Let me rock a show for people that go to shows because they love music. People that sing along to songs. Not a bunch of Yo-Yo's that see bands play at way to trendy clubs because it is they're job.

I hope y'all are planning to come out to the D&E x-mass show at the fat bean. It's gonna be free, and we are planning out a lot of special things. We're gonna play some tunes you don't usually hear us play, and we got some friends coming by to play too.

Last weekend. Here is the wrap up.

Friday was Gabes Oasis, and Gabes equals good times. Not only did we get to play with Saraphine (my fav band) but we also got to blow Gabes P.A. so the monitors sounded like a big fart, and play Bossman with Ryan from LBC! Thanks to the Llamas for the help getting the word out about the show! And Matt Webb for being such a fun drunk!

Sooooo classic, we got no sleep on Friday night and had to leave early ass to get to St Louis for the big Ludo show. For anyone who doesn’t know the joke about the dog and everything. We are late to everything. If you tell us to be at the show to load in at 4pm, you will see the Dog van pull up at 6:20pm. So to bust our balls Ludo refers to us in “dog time”. Dog time is the time that we will actually show up. So Convey will say “Dude, you need to be here at 2pm, 3pm Dog Time.” To get them back we had to get to Mississippi Nights B4 them. Thus beating Ludo to their own show. So Jimmy drove 90MPH the entire way, and we all slept. Ha Ha. And yeah, we roll up a solid 30min before ludoSide note, Ludo always knows where to go to get good food. I love hanging out with those guys. The show was awesome. I got to see Swizzle Tree, which was a treat. I miss playing with them. Thanks to all the kids that were singing along with us during our set. Each time we come back it keeps getting better. You guys we’re crazy!! It must be the whole Lu-Dog effect. I met so many cool people at that show. I cant wait to get back.

I also wanted to say sorry that we didn’t make it out to dinner after the show that night. We we’re so dead tired that we had to go back to the Convy house and crash.

We have Gabes Oasis on Friday! We have not been to Iowa City since the breaking fall tour. I can’t wait. Playing Gabes always means 2 things; A lot of good friends, and a lot of soda pop! And since we are playing with Saraphine you just wait. I’m sure we are going to get Mike Kosh and Jimmy to wrestle. No joke. It happens whenever the Dog and Saraphine are together with too much soda pop. Saturday we are going to STL for the big Ludo show, and I know that will be awesome. Ludo is deff gonna shift it in to high gear on Saturday!

And for all my Chicago friends that get to see Motion City Soundtrack at Metro on Saturday…..….I have nothing but jealousy for you bastards!

Detriot, Fat Bean, and my boring life.

Detroit last night was great! Thanks to Before I Go (www.beforeigomusic.com) for the show. There we’re a ton of awesome kids, and a ton of Tommy’s family there. I met so many kids who saw us on the Punknews.org tour at the shelter. We have only played Detroit twice now but that scene is blowing up. So many great bands!! I can’t wait to get back there in Jan2005. Thanks to Skirt, and Ashley for getting so many emails (and happy birthday Ashley this wed!). I’m just home now doing a little work. We’re getting all this new merch and I’m trying get it all ready. Look our for an ass load of new buttons, a new shirt design, and yes finally stickers. About time right.

In other belated blog comments, the fat bean nov 24 was great! Thanks to all the kids that came out. I know the weather was super bad! We will be back at the fat bean on Dec 22 doing the 3rd annual Dog&Everything Christmas acoustic show.

So yeah.....about my wallet being stolen.....it just so happens that I get a letter in the mail informing me that my "bill fold" has been found and that it is being held at the Urbana post office. So classic.....it gets mailed back to me, obviously after I went through and cancelled everything, got a new license.....and the money of course is missing out of it. classic.

Ok enough griping about my personal life. haha

Why did the dog have bad karma at the end of this tour? I'm sure you've all read about our accident. well...there is more. Were talking about people getting speeding tickets....BMW hoods and windshields getting cracked, dented, and scraped.....oh yeah.....its on with the terrible karma. So everyone please send out some kind of buddha prayers or something!

I am excited for the Wheaton show though. We've been on the road for a long long time. It'll feel awesome to be able to play all these new songs for the ladies and gents who have seen us the most. Plus we are recording our dvd! its an awesome opportunity to be apart of something everlasting. (that sounded like a jewlery commercial)

Hello....I spent all day running errands. Why do they always take so damn long? I got my hair cut from a hispanic lady.....she cracked me up. She kept saying *in a latin accent*....."you have such healthy scalp" Weird. I also got my oil changed. I love going to get it done only because I know the people working there will try to get you to buy at least 500 things. But I said *nnno*

I'm excited for this upcoming tour.....nothing is better than playing shows with bands you love to be around....and listen to for that matter. I'm also excited to sit next to Phil and fuck with him why he falls asleep sitting upright.

Let me just say, I bought the Rage Against the Machine DVD last week, and i love it. i have been rocking it nonstop! That band is fuckin incredible.

Just got home from the Fall Out Boy in-store at hollister. FOB's fans are the shit!! Crazy kids! FOB rocked! After the show Tommy and I we're passing out some sample CD's with a few tracks of Sound Off. Everyone was so cool. We met a lot of nice peep's and sold a few CD's. Too bad it was cold as shit outside tonight.

Besides that I'm just home at 2am working on some new merch design's. We wanna get some new shirts, and stuff for the breaking fall tour. But we are under some serious deadlines too get it done in time. Classic Dog, doing things at the last minuet.

Well, back to work.

Haven't written in awhile.....Just getting things done before we leave for tour. haha....that sounds so typical to say....I gotta think of a better phrase for that. We are leaving for...ummm....an extended vacation in which we will eat every 12-14 hours, Sit in one spot for an extended period of time traveling around 75-100 (hehe) just kidding about the C-note. Basically have one of the hardest workouts for an average of 45 mins straight. Walk around talking to lovely strangers in sweaty boxer/briefs. Then rinse and repeat.

Ok....I guess I'll just keep saying we are leaving for "tour". The vacation thing......too long to say.

can't tell you how excited i am about the show on saturday... i don't think excited is even the right word. i have been getting a good response from a lot of fans and friends saying this is going to be one of our best shows. the excitement level is amazing.

it has been a long year for me personally, recording and producing this new record and i want you all to hear it so bad. my band has been working so hard to make this show great and our upcoming tours this summer and fall amazing.

i just want to say thanks to jim, augie and tommy for supporting me. i hope this record is something they will be proud of.

the few people that have heard the record are very excited and i think you will all enjoy it!

let's all get together on saturday and have a fucking great time!

Finally!!!

So excited to play Metro this weekend! If you don't have tickets get them now. I have a good feeling this show will sell-out, and I don't want anyone getting stuck outside.

And if you haven't heard, The Hard Rock Hotel is throwing us an After Party. The D&E, Empyrean, and Saraphine will be plating acoustic sets, its free to get in, and beer is free from 10-11pm.

Classic Sunday Afternoon,

Did anyone hear us on 94.7 this morning at 6am? If you missed it here is a little summary; We did a cool little interview with JVO-AKA James Van Osdol (nice guy, Comic book lover), and played 'Make Believe, and 'Look Away', two tracks off our upcoming record 'SOUNDOFF'.

On Friday we played at the Double Door. We haven't played with Lucky Boys, and Swizzle Tree on the same bill since the 4/20 show last year at the Vic. Those guys are all fuckin' crazy, and we always end up drinking way too much kool aid when we play shows together. Thanks too all our fans/friends 21& up that came out. And congrads to LBC for selling it out. By the way, capacity at the Double Door is 550 people. I wanted to say that for the door guy working that night. I asked him how many people it took to sell out the Double Door, and he was a total ass to me. When in fact he didn't know himself.

Saturday we had a few street team meetings to promote the Metro show coming up on April 3rd. Thanks to everyone that came out! It was fun hangin' out.
